Doing a 180
Happy New Year from all of us (it's just me) here at Feet....Start Walking!
I often scheme in my mind about how I can get my friends/co-workers to believe in Jesus as their personal Savior. Then I remember that I can't and it isn't my job anyway. That responsibility falls on the Holy Spirit. Only the Holy Spirit can change hearts and minds. Without a prompting from Him to the hearer, our words will hit a brick wall.
We don't know the Holy Spirit's schedule, however. We don't know when our words or actions will penetrate. Is this soul ready for the harvest or are we just planting the seed? It shouldn't matter to us. We share the one and true Gospel and God has promised that it won't return void.
With that in mind, here is a great evangelism video. It's really worth the half hour of your time.
I'm a CPA. I like logic and order wrapped neatly on spreadsheets with columns that add up to totals that aren't red. This video appeals to me because it forces the questionees to deal logically with their beliefs and (supposed) values.
I would love to pose questions like this as boldly and plainly as Ray Comfort does to people on the street. This requires the willingness to make people feel very uncomfortable in their own skin. Hmmmm, that could be a topic of a whole post. Why do we allow people to be so comfortable in their dying state? Why doesn't that bother us most of the time? But anyway......
I would love to hear some opinions about this evangelism technique and also about any opportunities you have had to share the Gospel in this cold-call-salesman sort of way. So please comment and share your thoughts.
*** Warning ***
There is some graphic content in this video related to the Holocaust. Some may find it very disturbing. Those who don't, well, I find THAT disturbing.
